Rat Terrier Rescue

Available Dogs Dogs we have placed Links Puppy Info

Sometime in 1992 or so Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue contacted me and asked me to fill the vacant Rat Terrier Rescue Representative position.  Knowing that these dogs needed help, of course I couldn't say no!  And I have held the position until this year, when we decided we could no longer continue.

This site is a work in progress!

I have set up this web site to make it easier for me to post information on the available Rat Terriers, and to begin to develop an information site for the breed.  If you have a web site about Rat Terriers and would like to be on our link page, please send me a link.  I am particularly interested in other Rescue sites, and breed information or club sites.  Naturally, if I link to your site, a reciprocal link is appreciated.

About Us:
My husband & I acquired our first Rat Terrier in 1989, Lazer, who died in March of 2003 from cancer.  She was joined by Bones in 1997, a rescue who never left (Bones was very abused and it took a long time to get her ready for placement.)  My husband had been fascinated with the breed ever since seeing them used a Ratters on the docks in Michigan.  At that time we were looking for a companion and alert dog to join our Bouvier des Flandres. We do not breed Rat Terriers.

Our terriers live with and try to rule our Bouvier des Flandres.
